The Parable Of The Lost Coin

"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

- Jesus (Luke 15:8-10)

This parable always didn't catch my eyes
because it's stuck between the more famous
Parable of The Lost Sheep and the Parable of The Lost Son.
What for rejoice over one lost and found coin? Crazy!
Yet, God works even in small little ways to bless others.
Today I've seen a woman whom Jesus shine through...
May the coin be found.
She's sweeping.

'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.'

Dad's Hometown

Well for people for think Kuantan is in Kelantan or Terengganu or Sarawak
They will have no idea where Benta is. It's near KL - Kuala Lipis!
And the state is Pahang. I REPEAT! PAHANG!
Learn some geography people. Pahang is not that ULU!
Coz I'm not! ;=)

So in this rustic little kampung called Benta,
I was first exposed to kampung life.
I bathe in rivers,
saw bamboo sticks more huge and tall than me
(which I one day aspire to be=)
ate lots of fruits
rambutan, duku, jambu, nangka, chempedak
and DURIAN!!!!

This time around the only durian tree in my grandma's house fuited!
It was RAYA KUNYIT or 毛山王 (my uncles said 猫山王 is wrong!)
It's the PERFECT DURIAN!
Said to be originated from a special durian tree Gua Musang (this one is in Kelantan!)
This durian has lots of flesh and small seeds and GOLDEN YELLOW!
Rarely you'll even find a SANG FAN SHU (a spoilt durian)!
And there was a whole bunch of it still waiting on the tree.
Each day, about three durians fall down for my extended family's consumption.

Coupled to that there the Orang Asli King durian aka barbaric people king durian.
And it tasted great! Another PERFECT durian!
They are as great as Orang Asli, I simply love them.
And they are far from barbaric as proven by the durian!

Indeed a great day to feast with durians and my family members!

Flying Colours and Marks

Disclaimer: Calvin acknowledges self-praise is universal disgrace.

YO PEOPLE!
I GOT 96 FOR APPLICABLE MATHEMATICS!!!!
WOOHOO!!!!
Finally my prayers and wishes come true
I get a nine-digit marks for Maths.
It may seem stupid why a 13A1 SPM student would rejoice over this.
But people, college maths is not as easy as it seems.
I never failed my maths before in my life till college!

Australians sure know how to set extremely challenging questions
on simple mathematics knowledge.
When you look at the question you'll either have these three reactions:

[1] What on earth is this question?
Quote Nasuha: This question is from HELL.
Faef corrected: "No lar, it's question from heaven! Since you all DIED in that question."

[2] Okay, I understand the question. But how to do wei, BRAIN JAMMED!
Cheh, so easy one to do one.
Most say that after seeing the answers, but real examination time answers don't fall from heaven. The questions want us to DIE first...

[3] Yay, finally a question I understand, straightforward and can do.
But it's only ONE mark, and even the one mark one loses because of carelessness.
So in the end, DIE also.

Every one in AUSMAT has a reason to hate Applicable Mathematics.
However, this time I feel I'M LOVING IT!
(there goes a free advertisement for McD)

This time I BELIEVE I CAN FLY
with FLYING COLOURS!
Never thus far, I scored more than 80 for Applicable Mathematics.
Hope is coming for me
and Mock Exam next week please don't mock me!

Most of all I thank people who without complaint and without ceasing
prayed for me throughout the hectic months of exams and assignment.
Thanks Un Dex, Sarah, Nicholas, and all the CYD people and SAGC
and my bro Caleb and family.
(It may seem funny to thank everyone
before I know whether I fail Mock exams or not,
but I appreciate all of their prayers no matter I pass or fail later
for they are all my bro and sis in Christ.

And yes Daddy in heaven, thank you to You the most
although people might not believe that you helped me in exams
You were there
when Ophelia turned up (TEE 2003:18)
when Bruce and Kylie appeared with their twins (TEE 2004:15 and many more)
when I got stuck in augmented matrix
when my probability of understanding the question = 0
when I realised my intellect is NOTHING...

Thank You for your love that is exponentially distributed (growth style),
never ending, goes on for infinity,
and possess the "lack of memory" feature
on all my procrastination to study and lazying around with Facebook
and NEVER FAIL to comfort me
and love me (plus the discipline).

Oh yeah, thanks for the good marks in Physics, Chemistry and Economics.
It's time to dig into Applicable Mathematics past year questions...
It'll will be hard time raking my brain cells, but worth it to bring You glory.

Happy Meal =)

Today is Judgement Day at EALD...
I was a judge to comment on people's speaking skills on interpreting pictures.
I just record this for fun.... haha

The main for today is this:
Happy Meal at Yuen Steamboat restaurant
The one where chicken wings disappear within less than 5 seconds after it appeared.
The height of human competition for food!
Never in my life I've seen it to be so intense!

Happy Meal =) was a liberation of steam in the form of steamboat.
Liberation from steam and pressure of
Physics Topic Test on Tuesday
Chemistry Topic Test on Wednesday
EALD Assignment on Thursday
and Applicable Maths Topic Test on Friday.

We have to celebrate merdeka early
because immediately on 1 September, there's oral test and more classes.

It's was true merdeka
people showing all their colours in eating.
Ming Chai's ferocity in fighting for chicken wings.
Sing Yong's verbosity in announcing the arrival of chicken wings.
Joel and Jaevon's boldness in engaging a war over chicken wings.
Beng and KCV's amazing appetite for ICE CREAM
and not forgetting the ALWAYS EAT JAGUNG gang! (Long live Fern and Calvin!)

Let's talk about HAPPY MEAL =) Dish 1
CHICKEN WINGS!!!
It just drive people crazy!
People dive in and with such dexterity to grab all the chicken wings.
Such tenacity with all sorts of technique of obtaining highest yield!
Ming Chai proposed all kinds of techniques:
1 - One take one block the competitors
2 - Take from other people's plate when they are busy taking it.
3 - Steal from the kitchen.
And I'm really amazed at how fast the chicken wings disappear within seconds, literally.
The whole thing was clean and done.

However, the best thing I like about Yuen is the ice-creams.
I think I ate about eight flavours.
(in increasing deliciousness: dried fruits with vanilla-less vanilla, sugus-flavoured strawberry, yam, very artificial honeydew, jagung-y corn, vanilla, chocolate, chocolate chips in vanilla)
Tony, KCV and Ah Beng are experts in eating this.
They ate like seven bowls?
No wonder ice-cream disappear so fast
and for once I had to queue to get ice-creams.
Come here eat steamboat or ice-cream? Haha.

Actually, the other food are pretty plain. The steamboat is just normal.
I ate all the meat and vege until so jelak already.
Guess it was the fun of being with friends.
Switching tables and talk to very long time no talk people.
Mutual feeding of ice cream between Fern and Calvin
(oh we are just friends... don't over-analyse)
Meeting junior like Jia Jun, a future-to-be architect as well

Posing in pictures
See other people run away from photo shooting
See Poh Hui killing Ming Chai for pranking her into photo shoot
"Ei, Poh Hui! Look at my handphone camera lens!"
*points at it as if something wrong with the lens*
*chak*
"EI, YOU TAKE MY PICTURE!!!"
This is so 经典!
And yes, Jun Kai's wonderful picture and
announcement to the world of his name by his Engineering mates.

And discrimination of tall guy sitting under a pot of artificial pitcher plants.
Great question from Nai Lin:
"What hurts the most? Durian falling on your head or coconut?"
"Durian" and with lengthy physics explanations of pressure exerted by durian thorns
and Tony's strange biology answer of durian causing both internal and external bleeding unlike coconuts only with internal bleeding.
"YOUR HEAD LAR!!!"
How can we be so stupid one?
(Dear reader, get the joke?)

However, I guess the best-est thing about HAPPY MEAL=)
is about discovering pure laughter and the freedom to be wacky.
Studies really has a toll on my PR skills,
but today I regain joy of just discovering to talk to friends without inhibition.
To step on other people's shoes just like that. Haha, Poh Hui double step in return.
To sing merdeka songs while waiting for T632 back to Kelana Jaya.
To stand tall in pictures and smile without kaku-ness.

It's been a great day!
Thanks to Nai Lin for making it really VIBE
VERY INTERESTING BIG EVENT!!!
Thanks to Ming Chai to reminding and inviting!
Thanks to Poh Hui for driving and guiding the way!
Thanks to Fern for making things really funny!
Thanks to many who came: Sarah, Jaevon, Joel, Nicholas, Woei Song, Ginger, Ah Beng, KCV, Ming Chai, Sing Yong, James, Poh Hui, Keoh Ying, Yat Seng, Nai Lin, Fern, Tony, Jun Kai, Jia Jun, Keng Chai, Gary, Wei Khang, and who's that missing 23-rd person?

Oh yeah, drop the comments about the things you find interesting during HAPPY MEAL=)
I really want to record this great eating we had!
For it's really a HAPPY MEAL=)

My Roommate

Oh Calvin going nostalgic AGAIN?
I remembered last year when Nick asked me when was Leong's birthday.

"Eh, you sure his birthday is on 26 August and not today?"
"Of course. I'M HIS ROOMMATE OKAY?"

Then, kantoi, it turned out to be 25 August.
So this year I made sure after my birthday,
I checked properly the dates via Facebook.
I find it interesting how can two roommates' birthday can be so close.
Probably because both of our mothers are primary school teachers.
And the only time they are free to conceive is during the year-end holidays =p

Anyway, the other Five "whatever-you-want-to-call:-musketeer, duo+trio" boys
Chan, Tony, Junk Kai and Calvin decided to surprise Leong.
The operation went like this on 24 August:

[1] Calvin designed the birthday card and ask students and lecturers to sign.
When getting lecturers to sign, he almost had the chance the see the App Maths mock paper! and Ms Say actually wrote in Chinese for Leong. Mr D with his flowery language wrote only HAPPY BIRTHDAY! which was quite reasonable, what else better to wish?

[2] Calvin bought the cake from Secret Recipe
The cake should be called Cappucino Cheese. Forget liao... but the main thing was that he was cycling it back all the way back to BU6... and guess what? nothing happened! it arrived safely. It was a piece of cake!

[3] The four discussed their plan of surprise and started calling people
I can't believe Tony has to scroll his SMS to write a special birthday wish. Ms Say was correct: Engineering students are totally not artistic. Haha. It was confirmed 9.30 PM was the time to surprise.

[4] Calvin became the spy and was on the lookout for the target's slightest movement.
It was torture to act normal in the room. I found out that the birthday card was not sticking well and my glue stick ran out. So I actually borrowed glue from Leong to re-paste his birthday card! Then, I was afraid his mum is going to pick him back for birthday celebration as his bags seemed neatly arranged. I asked whether he's going back in the most awkward way. But didn't kantoi...

[5] The moment before surprise.
At 9.20 PM, Leong went to sleep. How wei?!!! Then, Gary, Yat Seng, Keoh Ying, Ming Chai, Tony, Jun Kai and Chan came only to find the outside pedlock locked. Thank God I decided to come out as unplanned. Had to re-teach Chan how to sing Happy Birthday in Merry Christmas tune. All was ready. Candles lighted on cake, everyone was prepared for ambush!

[6] The moment of surprise!
I unlocked the door and then Tony realise my room fan was still on with its normal speed of maximum 5! KANTOI! The troops retreated and I turned off the fan. Then Leong woke up, wondering what was all the noise and Calvin turning off the fan when almost went into proper sleep. Apa Calvin ni? Off the fan for no reason. (The lights and fan of a room is a huge source for roommate's argument typically) So finally, we went in immediately (before he can get angry =p) and sang the Happy Birthday song in Merry Christmas tune. Ming Chai and I almost sang "We wish you a Merry Christmas!" instead of "We wish you a Happy Birthday!". Anyway, we decided to sing the original version of Happy Birthday, coz the Merry Christmas tune was kinda lame. It was that warm, friendly tune again!

[7] The Reaction Force (oh the moment in [5] & [6] are not referring torque)
The birthday was speechless and grinning widely. We then went outside and snapped pictures. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it." We invited him to eat the cake. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it." We snapped more pictures. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it." We asked how did the cake taste like. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it." We joked around. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it." We left. Birthday boy said, "Thank you very much. Didn't expected it.". Leong repeated thank you a lot.

To Leong:
Thank you for the birthday card you put on my desk today afternoon! Although it came after your birthday card, thanks for the effort of creating one for me. It was so kawaii! And yet able to capture our moments of joy, fighting and cold wars. It's an up-and-down time with you, but a wonderful roller coaster. Be it with Kilo and Cal, our hamsters, our late night talks about our weddings in the future at Cloud-9 scale, deep conversations about God and matters of life, the movies together , the belanja-ing food for each other, the stay-over at your house and the extremely memorable argument started with me scrubbing the toilet floor while you're sleeping (yes, Calvin is capable doing the strangest things to irritate people), they all enriched my life. Although we are talking less now, probably a sign of work hardening from AUSMAT, I do hope after mock our friendship will be annealed. However no matter what happens, I will always remember this "肥仔" roommate of mine. Let's not give up pursuing our dreams!

The Story of A Birthday

It was 22 August. The doctor found out that something is wrong with the baby. The mother was worried. The baby's older brother died in the womb. Was history going to repeat itself? No, she will never give up. She pushed forward with all her might. It was a perilous moment. Once the life supporting cord was separated, the baby will suffocate in the womb. However, a miracle happened, the baby's head with its eyes and nose popped out finally. He was all blue, deoxygenated, but life came in again as the light and air of the world breathe into him. Probably he was predestined to be tall and long, that's why the legs came out first! But there lay an overjoyed mum, with her precious first child...

Nineteen years later, the baby was in darkness again, fearing what his birthday was going to be. It was not a time when he's with his family and will be able to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken to celebrate with finger-licking-good drumsticks. It was not a time when he was the tall happy talkative guy like when he first came college. People have known his snobbishness, his glance from his tall self looking down, trampling them. People have known his dogmatism, his insistence on doing the things he felt right. People have known his fiery temperament, his all hidden up fire and only flares up with sarcastic remarks... He just always have problems with the word friendship.

While sulking in darkness, reluctant to talk to anyone, Light came into his life again and said "I'll celebrate with you and be happy because there are those who looked beyond your fault." The boy was happy, but he didn't expected much. He did not expect that his parents will drive all the way from home and surprise him in college. He did not expect his church friends to plan a surprise party with his college mates for him. He did not expect all his college mates will sing happy birthday in class. He did not expect his closest friends will do anything or say anything after the hurts afflicted on them by him. Nope, he expected nothing... although the one reading this thinks he has much expectation after a close scrutiny of this paragraph.

The people came and knocked at the door. They wished happy birthday and walked off. The boy understood it. No games, no party whatsoever. It's okay, he was facebooking, facebooking some real turned into virtual friends. Facebook was addictive. He was posting some videos of "Why Guys Should Chase Girls" as if he was a desperate guy wanting confess to the girl he loved.

Then, they came in again. "Come out-lah Calvin!" said that Annoying Voice. When the boy came out, the Annoying Voice said "Aiyah, forget liao. Go get a T-Shirt. We are going to blindfold you!". Okay, they want to do something special. Just put up with them. It's very good of them to do something for him on his birthday.

The boy was blindfolded. He walked around clueless, thinking he was lost in the darkness of his mother's womb again. Then came the Voices.

"Go to your right."
"Yeah, I'm going the 'right' direction!"
"Walk faster lar!" said the annoying voice.

The boy was somehow not scared at all the walk in the darkness. He was on solid bitumen road. Yet, it was because of the Voice of Assurance that not just only assured him, but held the boy with his hands, guiding the way, and stopping him when necessary. Probably there was two of them. No idea, because it was all just darkness. And Voices.

There were a lot trials and tribulations. The bushes and sticks brushed against the tall legs and head. Cars veering past so near the legs that he can feel the wind. Houses with fans that are too low. Commandments of squatting down. And Voices that Lie. Again, the Voice of Assurance and Laughter was still around. The boy felt if he were to be blind, it's still okay because he has Voices who will tell him where to talk and most comforting still, held him by hand to walk, walk through the darkest night.

Arguably, it was the longest blindfolded journey the boy went through. He was allowed to open his eyes after he thought was to climb onto a Roman pillar and Zeus was about to strike lightning on him. The lightning turned out to be a Big Mac with two candles. What a cake!

Then, when he had the chance to see the world again, not blindfolded, he felt strange. People were playing their own games. It was about them again. The boy was left alone. Sticks hit people, but the sticks never went to him. The balloons burst, but he was not in the bursting fiesta.

It came the time to sit down. It was cold. Midnight wind blowing. One Voice left, but the boy was very glad that the Voice came. Every one tried very hard to joke. Be it with their impregnated bellies or with the Chinese dialect jokes. At least the Big Mac Desperado was really joking. The boy was pressured to make it a happy mode. The people came and one shouldn't disappoint them, but the fact that they came just because they considered the boy Friend haunted the boy.

It wasn't like last year when many people come, played flour and it was a messy happy birthday party. This year it seemed that the boy dragged them out for his happiness sake, some dragged all the way from Kelana Jaya. Every one was yawning when they couldn't talk anymore. Finally, the boy couldn't take in the guilt anymore and asked "Do you guys want to go back now?". Oh yeah, the night was young and they waited more. They talked about steamboat.

Every one went back after that and the boy was staring at his Facebook Profile page. Tonnes and tonnes of wall posts flooded his page. Somehow he felt happier on Facebook. Then there was sms-es on the phone from long lost friends and prayer partner. It was busy time of thanking everyone. It was not idle and awkward.

It was a strange birthday. Strange that I appreciate friends when I'm blind. Strange that virtual happy birthday greetings meant more than real ones. Strange that friends will drags themselves out just for your birthday, doing nothing, trying just to make you happy.

The boy felt really strange. Maybe coz it's nineteen years old. One has to grow up from birthday fun to appreciate people who are truly friends.

Why Guys Should Chase Girls?

It's not even Friday 13th.
It's even the Friday before that blessed day called MY BIRTHDAY!!!
Yet there was a death in the house opposite of Mr D's,
Ms Say said she was down with fever,
Resulting in two assessments postponed till next week
Resultant number of exams = 4 in 3 days!
4 = Die! Sei lor!

That sounds familiar right?
Was spending the whole morning beside Ms Poh Hui
Complaining to each other how hard are all the past year physics questions.
It was a great time we were both wearing formal attire
And doing physics question with leather shoes and high heels
(PH barefooted later in library, can't stand the stress - in physics terms)
Because Mr D asked us to wear it and...
Quote Hani: I stayed up until FOUR AM and you say there's NO CLASS!!!

Anyway, I still had many physics question undone.
So I released tension by going Facebook!
And stumbled across Elena Lee's note on a Youtube video called
"WHY GUYS SHOULD CHASE GIRLS?"
Didn't know why decided to click on the link
Probably caught by that comment Ms Blurrie@_@ made:
"It's interesting how people talk about serious stuff in a comical way.. ahhaha"

Won't say much on this, else people think more than they should.
Check out the videos!

Thinking of My Girlfriend...

*Wind gushes*
*Calvin with that lovesick face*

In moments of sleeplessness,
as I'm totally not gay...
I thought about my girlfriend...

*I can almost hear all the gasps and cat calls wee wit*

"Hi I'm Calvin. I'm predestined to fall in love with you."
What a Christian pick up line meant just for me!
But seriously, I wonder how I will ask her to be my girlfriend.

Then reality sets in.
Will it affect my church ministry and studies? (I've seen enough couples...)
How on earth am I going to maintain the relationship when I study in Australia?
I can't bring her along.
(this also means none of the KBU girls are on my lists=p)
Even if keeping in relationship via facebook or other virtual technology
How I can be sure that I will not be seduced away?
How do I know even if this is not just a crush that never grew further?
I'm so crushed! Like some cookies...

Anyway, ever since the thought that I like (love) someone came
I made the stand not to do anything
And let God handle it.
No girlfriend.
No boyfriend.
I'll just be a friend.
I'll just be a brother.

Monday Without You-Know-Who

I look like Harry Potter???
If that's true, then Mr Potter aka me
then have for once a Monday without Voldemort
with the nickname Optimus Premu.

Sorry-lah, Ms P.
My Monday posts are often about you.
That shows how influential are you.
Probably the only time I can forgive you
is when you're not teaching me.
But MAN, I have two more experiment lab reports to submit!

Today Ms J finished the syllabus.
Inorganic chemistry done in less than two hours.
That's speed!
Which if you-know-who is teaching, it's impossible.

Sorry Ms P for I can't yet forgive you at the moment.
Why I'm apologising anyway?
I have still not yet get over the hurt that my Chemistry was worst for mid year!

Well, as Uncle Voon Siong spoke on "How To Get Over A Hurt?"... seriously...
The only remedy for hurt or pain is forgiveness.
Forgiving is the art of healing inner wounds inflicted by other people's wrongs.

Through forgiving "Voldemort"
(A) I will REdiscover the humanity of "Voldemort" who hurt me.
As Mr D commented once, "she looked cheerful today." Probably bad childhood. Missing childhood friend called Sasha who incidentally came from my hometown?
(B) I surrender my right to get even with "Voldemort" aka vengeance.
No point throwing some sodium into your mouth.
(C) I revise the feelings towards "Voldemort" whom I forgive.
Again, no point storing up hatred towards you which in the end affect me ONLY.

Yet, forgiving "Voldemort" does not mean I need to get "Voldemort's" apology.
It's a one-sided thing.
I'm not trying to have a good teacher-student relationship again,
which never happened anyway.

"... as we also have forgiven our debtors" - Matthew 6:12b

Sounds preachy, but I try not to be a hypocrite.
That's what I truly feel.

VIBE

Very Interesting Big Event.
Tonight finally I was able to attend one after a long time.
Had really many wonderful times at VIBE meetings.
It was there I find Christian gathering really welcoming
and a blessing for the soul and friends.
It's pretty exciting too!

We shared about our life experiences through M&Ms
Orange for what we wish, e.g. I wish I don't need to study (mine) =p
Green for the biggest challenge we had, e.g. To fly (Jaevon's)
Brown for the most courageous thing we did, e.g. (forgot liao)
Red for the most feared event or things, e.g. get lost in pasar (Joel's)
Yellow for the most happy moment, e.g. someone took the initiative to reconcile (Ming Chai's)

Then we went for supper!
It's been ages I've been to a supper.
After all, Kuantan people like me don't go supper at mamaks.
Had this big pizza roti canai thingy and drank HORLICKS!!! (I miss horlicks!)

And I got to know it was Joel's birthday!
So despite haven't done any Cutnell questions
and Physics extra class is just about ten hours away
I decided to join in and have some fun.
AUSMAT life has drain much of my fun.
SO DON'T CARE, play until 2AM
then go back and do some Cutnell questions until 3 PM.

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEL!
You gave a great quote:
Don't be afraid to tell Life that "I'm not afraid of you!"

CEO Of Wuliaolism go plant Melon!

The CEO of Wuliaolism has finally left Malaysia to Carnegie-Mellon University to plant melons XD! It's the start of the days where you see your friend fly away one by one and wondering when you'll ever meet them face to face. It's the point where we really extend our wings and fly off.

Chan and I went to KLIA to send Jyo Lyn off. Joining along was Chun Keet. CEO of Wuliaolism is indeed wuliao aka lame. We talk about how poo turned into meteorites when it comes out of the plane's lavatory and some seriously disturbing scenes. I laughed until stomachache ever since a long time. However, those wonderful SPONSORSHIP people came so late and were so blur and cannot converse in English. Hey, at least three scholars are at stake. Flying 28 hours is no simple thing. And they arrived with the much-needed passports and flying tickets 15 minutes before entering departure hall! Hope that don't happen when I fly to Australia...

Anyway, there was a mixture of feeling sad and happy at the same time. Sad because she's leaving and it might takes ages to see her again. Happy because of the wonderful times I had with her in secondary school and she's flying off to her dreams. Will really miss her as she was the one who made wuliaolism relevant in my life and make my life a little crazier. She was the one who always talk to me when I was left out in the crowd. The best is all the crazy things we do together and all the mathematics competition we went. Nivvy is going miss Mojojojo very much. All the best studying in Melon! Thanks for belanja-ing us McDonalds. Haha.

By the way, met Sue Ann too who was sending another scholar to Melon. Stranger still met Teoh in KLIA... ok at least he's back from India. CG is on.

Oh back to college life. Sad. How I wish I'm flying.
If only I can imagine... beautiful...

OPTIMUS PREMU IS DEAD!!!

This is undoubtedly the WORST Monday hitherto! With her smirks when she heard the Wednesday-Blue-Remover haven't teach transition elements, she pounces on Nicholas with that rhetorical question: "Nicholas, are you confused?". As usual during all the chemistry laboratory examinations, she will throw out her annoying "I-can't-shout-Ainin-or-Firdaus-or-Suraya-can-you-hear-me?-please-come-in-front" type of vocal noise and start making everyone panic. How can we write equations for chemical reactions that we haven't learnt? Whatever that will happen when iron(III) chloride reacts with sodium thiocyanate and those extremely confusing complex ions with their ligands...

Oh yeah, "I have a class at 3.30pm, so all the best in doing your laboratory reports!" How I wish to just take all the inorganic chemicals and force her to drink it! (especially those dark brownish precipitates that matches her complexion and that ever messy thick strands of dead cells called hair!)

Anyway, OPTIMUS PREMU IS DEAD! This is the last time I'm going to ever have a class with her. Thanks for the revenge. The story plot is NEVER going to follow like Transformers 2. End of story.

"Father, forgive her for she know not what she is doing..."

Prema, you're forgiven and forgotten. Bye!

Judgemental

Be yourself! (sounds familiar?)
Then next moment then another person says
"Be more cheerful!"
Then another chirps in
"You don't need to live up to others people's expectation..."
Sounds really ironic.
There I become judgemental.

Haha, those are some funny things I heard in a birthday party.

How I wish I'm not judgemental!
It's practically impossible...
Practically everyone judges the Monday-Blue-Causer
Even the ones who said who shouldn't be judgemental.
When you try to give advice or constructive comments,
they retort "Don't be so judgemental!"
Perhaps people don't like to be judged,
but people like to judge.
I wish I wasn't judged as being judgemental.

However, I guess I've learnt very much trying not to be judgemental.
Being judgemental does bring me nowhere.
No point judging a smoker too much
like making statements of: Get the lighter from the smoker to light birthday candles!

I hate being judgemental.
I'm sorry if I've judged you too much.
Whoever-lah reading my simplest blog in history.

Calvin ber-emo...sekali lagi
(actually this happened on Friday and a little bit early of Saturday)
Saturday was a fun time hearing students righteously judging their Moral teachers.
Again I told the story of Faef and remind myself I need to forgive Ms Prema...

Of All The Days IT RAINED!

I woke up and it was raining
and how SNUGGY was it to just continue sleeping...
continue my slumber in dreamland
then a haunting thought came into mind
EALD Aboriginal Timeline collage's pictures haven't printed.
And it's raining.
I wouldn't want to cycle to college
in the rain with a punctured tyre.

Guess God didn't made it rain for fun...
He sent Mia to fetch me to college
And had a fun time joking around that I'll need to push her car
Coz her Kancil almost no petrol.
Actually, she's been fetching me so often this few days
That people thought that I'm tumpang-ing her car constantly.

Well, this few days has been super tiring
but I'm glad that God allowed me to work with a team
that was fun, cooperative and understanding.
There's Izzati who loves making art and the six-packs Aborigine picture
Such a funny and interesting girl
Of course, who's Izzati without Izzat in the group
Ah, thoughts of Sunkist with Blackcurrant dancing under Indian music flood my mind!
Izzat is one who thinks critically and suggest constructive ideas
Then, Mia the ever hardworking one and does things without complaint at all
She's willing to learn and be corrected.
Hafeez was cooperative and hardworking too
althought most of the time in silence
but when he starts teasing, he's way too sarcastic. Haha.

I love working with this team.
I hope that our marks will also be high for this coming EALD assessment!

The Best Monday of AUSMAT!

Architecture 1 students normally have
Monday blues and Wednesday Blues.

After the new semester,
Wednesday blues was gone,
but still stuck with Monday blues.

Today, things changed.
The Monday-Blue-Causer did not come.
The Wednesday-Blue-Remover asked to just go in Chemistry Lab
And watch the lab assistants do polymerisation.

What a lesson!
It was the only Chemistry Lab that I didn't dread
And everyone was attentive.
I didn't know lab assistants can be such interesting teachers!
More than the Monday-Blue-Causer definitely!
I'm humbled by them saying "I'm not lecturer okay?"
Their speech might not have that English accent,
But they explained things well
and even throw out questions that none of us can answer
and those are chemistry experiment fundamentals.

The 5% sebacoyl solution and 1,6-hexadiamine solution was fun!
Smoky! (They are unstable and poisonous and can cause fever!)
Then we had competition see who can pull the longest threads of nylon out from solution.
It was pure chemical fun!
Thanks lab assistants for making lab a fun time!

Then there was Faef's class of Poisson distribution and exponential distribution.
Normally every one goes to sleep in that class
because of the energy drain by Monday-Blue-Causer.
However, today she shared in dedication
to making her class interesting and preventing students from dozing
the answer that we have been waiting for an answer ever since we knew her.
Does E and K have any relationship?
It was half answered and left hanging - jodoh kat KBU?
Was tumpang-tumpang lama jadi tunang a truth in progress?

Yet, that was not the most inspiring part of Faef.
Her story of becoming a maths lecturer was indeed inspiring
as I quote her "I can't believe I'm teaching maths now!"
I shall not reveal too much lest some people misinterpret,
if you want the full story ask Architecture 1 students.
And Faef actually like Chemistry very much and
in fact better than maths in her secondary and college life!
Yor, why didn't she become our lecturer for Chemistry?
Chemistry will be so much more fun!

In conclusion, the lesson for the day:
Lecturers play an important role in ensuring a students successful study life.
Today, lecturers and even lab assistants make my day!

HP

I don't know why people like to say that I look like HP
Not Hewlett Packard, mind you!
Daniel Radcliffe.
Maybe it's a complement.
One thing I'm curious:
Who's taller?

I've begin to view Harry Potter differently.
There is a reason why I stopped reading that fascinating story.
I only read Prisoner of Azkaban and it's like that's it.
I struggle with it.
Just like J.K. Rowling struggles with it.
There's more to J.K. Rowling that the average person (especially Christians) think.

Birthday 2.0

Hi, I'm Calvin! And I am PREDESTINED to marry you!
(not a Christian pick up line confessing love to Michelle, Linus!)
WHAT A TESTIMONY ON GOD'S WILL!

"Then I said, ' Look, I have come.
As is written about me in the Scriptures:
I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart.'" - Psalm 40:7-8

The next exciting thing happened was the surprise party at Michelle's house.
Uncle Voon Siong and Aunty Mei Lin are such wonderful parents.
They somehow manage to "berkomplot" with Michelle's college friends
and Shah Alam Gospel Centre to plan a surprise party for Michelle.

First off, the college friends bring Michelle out for shopping
so that we can prepare ourselves for the party.
We had park our cars far away from the house and hide our shoes.
Linus had ronda with his bicycle
then the caterer had to brought away as he arrived too early.

Michelle was absolutely clueless about this
she even called home to ask his dad whether she can bring in her college mates back home!
But we waited really long for her to come back.
Hiding on ourselves in the living room as if
hiding from caught by an enemy.
My long body, I realise, is unsuitable for hiding!

Anyway, the moment came.
Michelle opened the door and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE! with drum rolls from Clement
She was absolutely speechless!

The night went well.
Good food and I smashed a glass against the wall
(accident after hearing Yin Ching's accident).
Uncle Dexter dedicated Psalm 23 to her
Jason with his creative brain made a wonderful birthday brochure for his sister.
Linus HUGGED her sister.
Andrew was wearing the shirt "Don't make me to come and hug you!".Lol
Everything was great and I reached home about 11.30 pm.
Tired and you know what
Monday only is Michelle's birthday!

Birthday 1.0

Happy Early Birthday to Michelle!
The first surprise birthday celebration for
Lee Hui Xin happened in CYD.
What a lame excuse that I say that
We are gonna sing a MEANINGFUL song
To end the day's discussion.
Was glad that many shared and show their appreciation to Michelle.
I think I was nearly moved to tears by their sharing.
(It should be Michelle crying, right? Apa pasal I cry)
Because we'll never know how much
we made a difference in other people's life
despite our weaknesses.

Then, Michelle turned into a tom-yam slave
serving everyone during Copa IBA reunion dinner.
Kesian!
And I turned into a daddy and Hui Min into Mummy at our table. Lol.
Had to serve our hungry, chirping kids meat and lots and lots of veges.
Thanks for to the Your "High"-ness Chai Yen and Hui Ying!
Tiring night it was, with all the washing and laughing
but memorable indeed.

Father

There's this Malay proverb which very much applies to me.
At first my dad.
Now Mr Derick!!!
Yang tinggi (panjang) jangan ingat bapak, yang pendek jangan ingat anak.

Mr Derick thinks I'm his dad.
Probably all the daddy-like comments I posted on his Facebook.
But today he got tulah for simply calling people "Dad".
Sick already. No class. YIPPIE!!!

Faster come back for class!
I don't want replacement class.
Ms Effa got replacement class sumore ler.

Oh, yeah tomorrow got Snow White's paper.
Gravitation - Newton making life hard for students.

Michelangelo and HP

For once, I was able to see the beauty
in that David sculpture of Micheangelo.*
And the Adam cannot touch God's hand thingy
in Sistine Chapel.
Perseverance.

Then there's HP.
The most boring-est movie I've seen thus far.
I guess only the first movie really captured me.
Since, not many read this blog yet,
must well spoil it...
all those totally "childish" romantic scenes
so little action...
the emotional part just leave my heart cold...
practically no scenes really stick in me...
you see
i'm even lazy to spoil it more.
Good night!

*Yeah, the one totally naked
in which most modern eyes are drawn to look at that "beauty"
pervertly.
